Summary
This book is about a boy who loves baseball. His father was a big star in their hometown and almost made pro. Darryl (D-will) Williams has taken Hutch's spot as shortstop. With the championship on the line Hutch has to decide who to trust his own father who has seemed to have given up baseball or has he? and Darryl who has a grudge against him.
Mike Lupica
He began his newspaper career covering the Knicks at age 23. He became the youngest columnist ever at a New York paper which he joined in 1977. For more than 30 years, Lupica has added magazines, novels, sports biographies, other non-fiction books on sports. For the past fifteen years, he has been a TV anchor for ESPN. He also hosted his own program.
Hutch
He is the boy who loves baseball more than anything. He is a boy in Florida that has a history with baseball.
Darryl
The boy who expects to be on top. Darryl is the kind of person who is always cool and is supposed to be the best but he is jealous with Hutch and that creates problems.
Hutch's dad
He trained Hutch and is a former little league legend and has given up on baseball
