Charger Check-In
March 2, 2023
A Note from Ms. Owens
It's Read Across America Week and our students are having lots of fun celebrating books, reading and, of course, Dr. Seuss! Our PK students had Wacky Wednesday wearing mismatched clothes and silly socks. Today, our kindergarten students wore fun hats to honor Dr. Seuss' birthday and they have had guest readers visiting their classrooms this week. (I get to visit on Friday!) Also today, Mrs. Bucko's students visited Mrs. Duh's classroom. The third graders read Dr. Seuss books to the first graders and then the first graders showed off their rhyming skills to the big third graders! What a great experience for both classes!
I want to share an opportunity that some of our school families may want to explore. It is an opportunity to donate money via the Invest in Kids Tax Credit Scholarship Program. We have a number of students who have qualified for the scholarship, however, we are still in need of funders. Donors are able to reduce their state tax liability. More information is available at the link above, and you can certainly reach out to me if you have questions. There is a 1:1 matching program open until March 31.
Today is the first Thursday of the month, and, as promised, I'm including a link to what I hope is a helpful family resource. This month's article is from Common Sense Media and thetitle is "Parents' Ultimate Guide to TikTok". The article is also linked again below.
