BA Business Leadership & PR/Marketing

A little bit about me...

I am a 47 year old, divorced mother of four grown children. After my youngest, who are twins, graduated from high school, I decided it was time to do something for myself: earn my college degree. I worked for 21 years with two different independent Goodyear dealers in both management and executive administration before making an industry change in 2008. I currently work as a licensed agency coordinator (which is basically an administrator and recruiter combined) for an international life and health insurance company. I have chosen to pursue a double major in business leadership and PR/marketing with the dream of eventually being able to work as a free-lance consultant.

I have been enrolled in Ashford’s online classes since September 25, 2012 and it has been one of the most rewarding journeys of my life. As a former mentee when the CHAMPS program was originally initiated, I understand from a personal standpoint the value a peer can add to the online learning experience. Knowing you can reach out to someone who has been in your shoes is priceless when trying to acclimate to the online classroom while also juggling work and home life. I joined CHAMPS so I would have the opportunity to give back to another the same values I gained while participating in the program as a mentee.
