The Speed The Light and BGMC Challenge!
This year Pastor Evan and I would like to see our children, ages 3 - 18 raise $3,000 for missions. Now that might seem like a really large number and it is in all honesty. But two years ago our Elementary age children raised $2300 all by themselves. So there is going to be an emphasis on missions this coming year. Our first event will be during the JBQ match we will be hosting at our church on March 7th where we will be selling snacks to hungry quizzers.
There will be events throughout the year look for them. Every Elementary aged child can get a free 1 in 5,000 T-shirt if they raise $100.
In The Dock, I want to reemphasize the InterNet Quiz for your children. Doing this at home is an opportunity to spend some time with your child talking about the Bible. You also get to see what your child is learning. I am going to be placing an emphasis on this in the coming year. Find the Quiz here.

Elevate goes Upside Down! Wednesday Evenings at 7 PM
In February Elevate and Elevate Junior will continue with Upside down town.
Come with us to a very strange town, a place where people live their lives upside down. Now that doesn’t mean the people there stand on their heads or that you’d climb to the ceiling to get into your bed. It’s the wrong choices they make that we call “upside down.” And some of their choices are the strangest around! Some of the people choose not to forgive. Others give up quickly and that’s no way to live. There’s a woman who gives warnings and tries to be nice, but she neglects to follow her own advice. There’s a man named Jack who refuses to go back. There’s a worrisome man with panic attacks. There’s a friend who hears advice both good and bad. That story ends up with an entire town mad! There’s a tale of a couple who refuse to help others. But that’s not all the stories, I can think of one other. There’s a man with the coolest device anywhere! But though he has many, he refuses to share. Yes there are many lessons that teach and confound. And we’ll learn from the Bible many truths quite profound. When we don’t live as God wants, we live life upside down. So travel with us, my friend, to Upsidedown Town!

The Kids Dock!
Has it been three years? Yes, it has and in Feburay we wrap up the three-year program of the Kids Dock. Any child who has been here since Mary and I arrived in February of 2017 has learned about God, Jesus, Prayer, Heroes of the faith, Praise and Worship, The 10 commandments, and the Holy Spirit. It has been quite a journey and in March we start it all up again because you can never get too much of a good thing!
Your children will be learning about the gifts of the Spirit as we wrap up our study of the Holy Spirit in February. It has been a challenging 6 months, but your children now know and understand much more about the Holy Spirit. Our prayer is that not only have they learned about the Holy Spirit but that they also encounter the Holy Spirit. I can say that we have seen growth in your children especially during our quiet time with God. It is great to see children with hands raised, on their faces before God, and being quiet before God.
Here are the new questions for February.
What do we call a unique skill or ability that the Holy Spirit gives us? A gift of the Spirit.
Who gives spiritual gifts? The Holy Spirit.
What is the greatest gift of the Spirit? Love
How do we know love is the greatest gift? Because 1 Corinthians 13 tells us.
Name a few of the gifts of the spirit? Wisdom, Knowledge, Faith, Healing, Miracles, Prophecy, Tongues, interpretation of tongues, and understanding Spirits.
