Trimester 2 VLA Art Materials are Ready for Pick Up
On Wednesday, November 18, Franklin County Public Health and the City of Columbus issued a joint Stay-at-Home Advisory for the city of Columbus and Franklin County.
The advisory is posted on the Franklin County Public Health website.
This advisory stresses for residents to, “…..stay at home to the greatest extent possible. Residents are advised to only leave home to go to work or school or for essential needs such as medical care, groceries, medicine and food pick up.”
Residents also are strongly advised not to have any guests in their homes unless they are essential workers, including for the Thanksgiving holiday. Columbus and Franklin County residents also are urged to limit meetings and social events to 10 individuals both indoors and outside, and to avoid traveling in and out of the state.”
While the majority of the Pickerington Schools are in Fairfield County, many residents of our district live in Franklin County.
The district asks its residents to adhere to this advisory to the maximum extent possible.
However, we do not at this time have any plans to change our current learning model from the hybrid model to all virtual.
In Section 6 under “Additional Guidance,” the advisory states:
“All higher education institutions and local school districts are advised to maintain their current learning modalities.”
Additionally, the “Additional Guidance” section also states:
“All organizations and residents are strongly advised to suspend and discontinue extracurricular activities including sports.”
The district administrative team is taking this final piece of guidance under advisement, and will provide further guidance to our schools and community about our extra-curricular activities in the upcoming days.
Finally, we understand the difficulties and the stress that the COVID-19 pandemic is causing our students and families. During this challenging time, we encourage our community to continue to adhere to local health guidance to the maximum extent possible for the safety and welfare of all. We thank you for your diligence and efforts as we all continue to work together to combat COVID-19.

Updated Information From Food Services
Beginning the week of November 1st, the Food Service Department is changing the sign up deadline for cohort and virtual food bags. The deadline will now be every Monday by 10am.
An important reminder: Please sign up weekly as this helps control food waste and monitor inventory levels.
The ODE Child Nutrition Department announced that all meals are free through June 2021! If you would like to receive breakfast and lunch for the days your student is virtual, please click on the correct link below to sign up. Remember that you need to do this every week.
- The Food Service Department is sending out negative balance letters to parents and guardians. Most of these balances are carryover balances from last year. We encourage you to pay off the balances as soon as possible. If your child wishes to purchase any extra items that are not included in the free meals they will need to have money on their account. A safe and easy way to add money to your account is by using mypaymentsplus.com.
Please Check Your Student's Attendance on Virtual Days
We believe the majority of log in issues with Infinite Campus have now been resolved. Students must log into Infinite Campus for their attendance and Google Classroom daily. They can login to Infinite Campus once and do their attendance for the entire day so they do not need to login multiple times. If your student is unsure of how to post his/or attendance on virtual days, please watch this "how to" video: Virtual Attendance Video.
If they cannot login to Infinite Campus, please reach out to their school counselor, Kris Owen (firstname.lastname@example.org) - 7th grade and Courtney Smooth (Courtney_Smoot@plsd.us) - 8th grade.
Thank you for your attention to this important matter.
