February 2019
News from Dr. LaRusso
LOVE is in the air. Today is Valentine's Day! With the exception of Christmas I doubt there is a more anticipated day in the school year. Here are some things we LOVE here at Rocky River.
We LOVE our kids; the best students in the world. In addition to working hard they exhibit good character each and every day!
We LOVE our families. The support we have from our parents is second to none. We celebrate this partnership as we watch each child learn and grow.
WE LOVE collaborating with our families. There is always an opportunity to help out with our Parent Involvement Team (PIT Crew) or be on campus to participate in a program or volunteer to serve our students! Winter events included an awesome Science Fair in January, an exciting Daddy/Daughter Dance last Friday, and we thank you for recognizing our staff last week with a wonderful lunch. Don't miss our Mother/Son Bowling Night March 20th!
Thank you!
Calling all Rising Kindergarten Students!
If you, or someone you know, has a child who will be five years old on or by August 31st they are eligible to begin kindergarten for the 2019-2020 school year! Kindergarten registration is a one-stop shop for registration for next year. Kindergarten Registration is an opportunity to not only register your rising kindergartener, but to meet with our transportation department, our Before and After-school program, discuss health concerns with our school nurses, meet educators from your child's school and sign up for a date/time to visit your school during kindergarten readiness screening in the spring. Registration is also important for our district as they determine staffing needs for next year. For more information please follow this link. Can't wait to meet the class of 2032 on March 6th!

A hard copy of this information will be sent home with students soon. Collection bins will be in our main foyer area during the month of February. If you have any questions please contact me or our school nurse, Mrs. Ashley Schaen. Our Social Work intern, Mrs. Brittany Nichols, will also be heavily involved in this drive.
