Week of August 27th, 2018

*Disclaimer please do not share ANY of this with parents yet, still rough drafts.

We will be using Seesaw for eLearning during the next couple mornings at 7:45 am everyone must attend. We will be using the activities tab in Seesaw to push out our eLearning. Make sure your classes are set up and ready to go. The document below has our eLearning statement and FAQ's that we will send home next week. Watch the first video below if you haven't yet. The second video is the video Mr. Wesson, Mr. Knipper and I worked on to share with parents so they can see what their student will see and how they can help their students if need be. The third video is how to share activities in Seesaw. The fourth video shows how to create and customize activities and the last photo is how to use the Seesaw shortcuts to add the Seesaw Icons into your Seesaw Activity directions. Please try to familiarize yourself with these things as we work on Seesaw this week. I promise it is all way easier than it appears :)

Seesaw is and should be your daily and primary vehicle to help your students learn and how to track their progress on the skills you will be reporting on. It will also be the way we facilitate eLearning.

Seesaw is a very easy way to get kids into DOK 2 with all of its built-in set up for a collaborative classroom. DOK 3 is easily reached when you add in App Smashing. (Click to See what App Smashing is.

and also here. For a list of compatible apps

Please get familiar with Seesaw, get parents connected ASAP, it should be used daily to help deepen knowledge retention for our students.

**Specials teachers will need to add their activities to the school activities library. The classroom teacher will be able to add the right special activity depending on the special they would have had the day of eLearning directly from our school activity library. (we will show you how :)

How to Add Students

Big picture

KinderForest Volunteers

Do you know someone who loves the outdoors? Do you know someone who loves kids? Do they have two days a month they could volunteer? If so please let me or Mrs. Jordan know who they are! We are looking for 3-4 more reliable volunteers to help with our KinderForest program. Adding an extra day and doubling our students going has put us in a scramble for volunteers.

Upcoming Morning Meetings

Monday: Seesaw training in the Robotics Room

Wednesday: More Seesaw in the Robotics Room

Friday: Seesaw if needed. If not we will begin diving into what RTI/Tier time will look like

On days we don't meet it is expected that grade levels are utilizing this time to meet together and plan for the week or upcoming week. This collaboration time is essential to make sure we are working on the same skills and standards. If you or your grade level has questions about this please come see me.
