Wolfe Cub Wisdom
Elmer Wolfe Elementary - Winter News
Happy winter season, EWE Community!
It’s amazing how quickly time has flown since the fall newsletter. Yet another change of seasons is a reminder of how long I have been working in education, and I wanted our families to know that I have made the decision to retire on February 1, 2024. Elmer Wolfe has been my favorite assignment by far, and I’m so grateful for the 10 years we’ve had together. Thank you for trusting me with your children and allowing me to make such fond memories with them. I will miss their happy smiles and greetings in the morning, all the stories they tell me, and their shouts of “NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND!!!” at dismissal. While there are so many things that I will miss, I’m really looking forward to spending time with my family and the freedom to travel whenever I choose.
As decisions are made regarding who the new principal will be, I will keep you posted. And, of course, this isn’t really goodbye. I live right in Union Bridge, so you will certainly see me around. I’m also planning to volunteer in the Holiday Shop in the coming years, one of my favorite EWE traditions. Until then, I’ll enjoy every second with my little wolf cubs between now and the end of January.
With Fondness,
Tracy Belski

Title I Family Engagement
American Education Week was a huge success in November. 50% of our students had visitors that week! We have our Eric Energy Science Spectacular Show Family Engagement event on December 13th, and we will be having a Winter Wellness Family Engagement event in January. Flyers will be sent home for both, so please keep an eye out. Title I flyers will always go home to the youngest or only sibling at EWE.
EWE Environmental Club
Environmental Club members have trained all the students at Elmer Wolfe to properly sort their waste in the cafeteria into recycling, compost, and trash. During the month of October 1,364 lbs of waste was composted instead of being sent to a landfill!
Environmental club hosted its second farm to fork fundraiser dinner on Friday, November 17. We were able to raise over $2800 for the Black/Hill family. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this event.
