Weekly Update-Volume VIII Issue 3

Welcome Ms. Karns!

I am pleased to welcome Ms. Lauren Karns to the Bruin Family! Ms. Karns will serve as our School Counselor. She will start on Tuesday.

Great Start to the Year!!!

We are off to an awesome start this year!!! This is in large part to the enormous amount of preparation that you all put in before the students arrived. Thanks for all that you do to make our school successful!

Club Exploration and Class Meetings

Students will participate in Club Exploration sessions and class meetings during Bruin Success this week. Class meetings will take place using the following schedule:

Friday-Senior Breakfast

All students should visit a club each of the days that they are not in a class meeting. There will be no break until next week. If you are not presenting during the Club Exploration, please help police the halls and ensure that every student is where they are supposed to be. They may not remember what presentation they are signed up for, so we may have to "wing it" to a degree. The important thing is that they are not roaming the halls.

Open House

The CCHS Open House will be held on Wednesday, September 6 from 6:00-7:30. All teachers should make plans to attend. Rather than run the bell schedule, we will have all meet in the cafeteria.

School Improvement Team Meeting

We will have a School Improvement Team meeting on Tuesday at 3:15 in the Media Center.

Staff Handbook

The Staff Handbook can be found in Canvas. Please review this before the start of school. The Staff Canvas page also contains videos and step by step instructions for Educator's Handbook, Aesop, Travel Tracker, etc...

Athletic Duty Sign-Up Sheet

Coach Harnly has placed a sign-up sheet in the teacher’s lounge for athletic gate duty. We ask that you please sign up for three days of duty for the school year. Your cooperation and assistance is greatly appreciated.

Pacing Guides

Your pacing guides need to be completed by September 15. The pacing guides will be added to your Canvas so that parents and students have access to them. If you are teaching a subject that someone else is teaching, the same pacing guide should be used.

Emergency Lesson Plans

Emergency lesson plans are to be added to your Canvas before the start of school. These plans should contain your daily schedule, class rolls and seating charts, lesson plans with instructional activities relevant to the course objectives that could be used at any time and that cover three days.
