Lines From Les Bois

From the Principal's Desk

Dear Les Bois Parents,

The school year will be well into December soon and we want to tell you how great the students are here at Les Bois. It is terrific to see many of our students participating in several extra-curricular activities. It is also fun to see them in the halls and at lunch interacting with their peers. Most importantly, it is a real pleasure to see our tremendous teachers and staff working with the students in the classrooms. Les Bois is a great school with a very dedicated staff.

We appreciate all of your support as we work together to educate your children here at Les Bois. Special thanks to many of you who volunteer. For those who can, please consider volunteering within our PTO. We have dances, concessions for ball games, and other activities that need volunteers to help make events successful. We also want to thank all of those who have made donations. Your support is greatly appreciated.

As we head into the new year we will be preparing for final exams. Finals will be administered December 18, 19th & 20th . Wednesday, December 18th , and Thursday, December 19th school will be dismissed at 1:15. Friday, December 20th school will be dismissed at 12:00pm. Please encourage your students to do their best and finish the semester strong.

With student learning in mind we are happy to report that Les Bois is one of the best junior highs in the area and in the state. Again, special thanks to our teachers who work very hard to teach their students. We are proud to have great kids and parents who are a pleasure to work with.

We would like to wish you and your family, a wonderful Thanksgiving, a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Thank you Boise NERFED

On behalf of the 8th grade Social Studies department, I want to give a specific shoutout to Boise Nerfed. They gave us 54 Nerf Guns and ammunition for the day. This allowed us to turn a great WW1 Trench Warfare activity into an even better activity. The kids had so much fun and were able to learn while playing! We would not have been able to provide what we did without the help of Boise Nerfed!

Spring Break - No School

March 23 - March 27th

Dangerous weather conditions such as significant snowfall, frigid temperatures or extremely icy streets may force a district-wide school closure. Should the weather require school closure due to safety concerns, the decision to close school will be made by the Superintendent early in the morning. Parents will be notified of school closures by phone, local media, the District website, each school website, emergency text message (must sign-up online to receive emergency text messaging), the District’s Twitter, Facebook and Instagram accounts.

Athletics and Activities

After-school activities may or may not be cancelled on school closure days. The District Administrators will determine by 1:00 pm whether activities will be cancelled. That decision will then be disseminated by the end of the school day.

Further information about the District’s Inclement Weather Procedures, including how to sign-up for emergency text messaging for staff, can be found on the District’s Emergencies webpage.

Reminder of our New Parent Sign In Procedures (Raptor System)

To ensure the safety of our students, the Boise Unified School District has implemented new sign-in procedures and system, for anyone entering the school.

When visiting the school or signing out a student, you are now required to show ID. Your ID will be entered into our system, so that the next time you come, you will only need to check in.

In addition, we are asking all parents/guardians to call the school at least 30 minutes prior to picking-up your student, so that it gives Attendance plenty of time to get the student from the classroom. This will ensure the teachers have time to dismiss the student, for students to pick up items from their locker, and avoid having parents wait.

We appreciate your assistance with these important matters.

Thank you.
