Parents/Guardians/Students please check your contact information
Daily Screeners
Parents, we are counting on you to screen your student for illness every morning before you send them off to school. The district will NOT be providing a DAILY health screening for either students or staff.
Use this Link to access a Student Screener.
Students exhibiting any of the following symptoms should remain home and not attend school: (Student Illness Exclusion Letter).
Fever (greater than 100.4);
Sore throat;
New uncontrolled cough, that causes difficulty breathing (for students with chronic allergic/ asthmatic cough, a change in their cough from baseline);
Diarrhea, vomiting or abdominal pain;
New onset of severe headache, especially with a fever. ***
Other symptoms listed by the CDC include chills, fatigue/muscle or body ache, new loss of taste or smell, and congestion or runny nose. Many children have very mild or no signs or symptoms of illness.
If you still have questions about when to seek emergency medical attention.
Expectations for Picking up Ill Students: Parents if your student becomes ill while at school, you will need to have a plan for timely pick up. The CDC states that in developing plans for placing students with symptoms in an isolation area, schools should be mindful of appropriate safeguards to ensure that students are isolated in a non-threatening manner, within the line of sight of adults, and for very short periods of time.
Other Considerations:
It will be important for families to emphasize and model healthy behaviors at home and to talk to their students about changes to expect this school year (social distancing, face coverings, hand hygiene). Consider using this checklist for families to prepare for in-person education.

Shout out of the week goes to Mr. Liptak!!!
The shout out this week is easy to write as Mr. Liptak is one of the most genuine, sincere people you will meet. When you are a "newbie," Mr. Liptak will always reach out and talk to you to learn about you. His catch phrase "BFaW (best friend at work)" could not be a more accurate representation of his character. We asked a student who their favorite teacher was to which he replied "Mr. Liptak, he is really great and teaches us about real stuff."
Additionally, Mr. Liptak is always an advocate for his students by helping to get them to student services when they are having a rough time. A student services member needed to go to his room and states that, "Mr. Liptak was truly amazing in his approach to working with the students." It is hard to find a more caring person other than Mr. Liptak on this campus and in the community.
Mr. Liptak, you continue to inspire our students year after year and the student services team would love to recognize you and THANK YOU for the excellent work you continue to do with our students.
Poetry Corner
What if she cheats,
What if she gives attention to every guy she meets.
What if she cries,
What if I die,
What if she's never happy no matter how hard I try.
What if we grow apart,
and I become nothing but a bother.
What is she makes me a father!
But my biggest fear.....
Learning to breath underwater!

Feeding Tampa Bay
My name is Kate, and I'm from Feeding Tampa Bay.
Feeding Tampa Bay, part of the national Feeding America network, focuses on providing food to the hundreds of thousands of food insecure families in the 10-county area of West Central Florida. I wanted to share with you a volunteer opportunity for students looking to complete volunteer service hours for future scholarships. I noticed that you are the main contact for the PTSA and thought that your members may be interested in this service opportunity.
Every Thursday afternoon from 3-6:30pm is our weekly Pasco Mega Pantry, and we are in great need of volunteers! This event takes place right across from PHS at Burks Memorial Park.
It would be amazing if you were able to share this information with your students looking for volunteer opportunities! I have attached a graphic below with information on the pantry.
Sign up happens here on our website or if you'd like to sign up a group, send me an email and I'll get you registered!
If you have any questions at all or are interested in partnering on future events please don't hesitate to reach me at kscaglione@feedingamericatampabay.org.
I hope to hear from you soon!
