Week of September 7th

Cline's Corner

Thank you for your transparency when meeting with Susan from ABRI. We are on the way to creating a clear tiered system for math at Wright. It was great to hear the consistencies we already have across the building in our core instruction. Susan will be here Tuesday, September 8th to guide our discussion and create a clear system.

Check out the Sites and Resources Listed Above!

  1. The first article gives 5 structures that you could use rather than Think-Pair-Share to engage students in discourse.
  2. The second link has a variety of videos of reading and writing mini-lessons in several different grades using the Lucy Calkin's units of instruction. You can also find a variety of assessments and resources on this site as well. It is one of my favorites!
  3. Constitution week is the week of September 17th. If you plan to celebrate this site may give you some ideas to engage students of all ages on this topic.
  4. Math Coach's Corner is a fabulous site. It has teaching suggestions and blogs on best practices for teaching math in the elementary classroom.

Leader in Me Cards

Yellow or white Leader in Me Cards were placed in mailboxes and extras are available in the copy room. These are to recognize your students that are exhibiting the 7 Habits. This is great way to recognize those students that also need some extra reinforcement throughout the day. When you complete the card, please let that student come to the office to turn it in. They will be recognized on the morning announcements and from these we will pick the Leader of the Month. Please let Kat know if you have any questions.
