Rose Lane Principal Letter...
Welcome to the final edition of What's Up, which is filled with all kinds of mementos of this extraordinary year! Three more days to go before we wish each other a wonderful summer break, and good luck next school year. I imagine that the next few days before May 26th will be filled with many virtual hugs, high elbows and foot fives, and possibly even some tears as we come to the end of a year like no other.
To our incredible staff in all departments: thank you for being innovative, resilient, flexible, creative and inspiring. Each day, you stood with courage to face the unknown, determined to help our students learn and grow. You succeeded by teaching math, reading, writing, social studies and science, along with a million examples of effective habits that will last a lifetime.
To our families, volunteers and community members: your support of us has been amazing. Teacher Appreciation Week was absolutely marvelous, and all of our staff shared with me how valued and encouraged they felt. Thank your for filling our hearts through your kind notes, messages, meals, goodie bags, and gifts. Most importantly, your unwavering support from home, whether your child attended virtually or in-person, has been deeply felt throughout the campus.
To our beloved students: I have to share with you that you were the number 1 reason we came to school or got on screen each day. We love you and were so proud of you this year! Personally speaking, I could never have gotten through this year without seeing your smiling faces, masked or unmasked, in-person or on-screen from home each and every day. I am very proud of you, and am so glad that we shared this time together.
Now, I know that we are all looking forward to a well-deserved summer break, but we still have many fun things next week! We are looking forward to seeing you at the events that your teachers have planned, as well as our chromebook round-up which Mr. Reyes shared out to you (Wednesday and Thursday for all virtual students). Have a healthy, safe, and fun-filled summer, and we will see you for the first day of a new school year on August 10, 2021. Three, two, one......Blast Off!
Best Regards,
