Cedar Grove Friday Flash
November 11, 2022
Dear Cedar Grove Families,
Parent/Teacher conferences will take place on November 21 and 22. These conferences are a great opportunity to strengthen the home/school partnership through two-way communication about academic progress and work habits as well as personal and social growth. However, time for conferences is limited, and we encourage parents to review our conference tips to maximize this opportunity to work together for the benefit of our children. If you have not yet scheduled a conference, please work with your child's teacher to schedule it.
Our students are continuing to do a great job with their composting efforts. We are happy to share that the students were able to divert 385 pounds of food from landfills and incinerators during the month of October.
Have a wonderful weekend!

Grade Level Newsletters
Parents, this year we will be sending all grade level newsletters each week in the Friday Flash, rather than having individual teachers send them. Please click on the link to your child's grade level below. Any questions regarding the content of the newsletters should be directed to your child's teacher. Thank you.
From Our Reading Specialist, Mrs. Del Balzo:
Please see the following information from Mrs. Del Balzo, which is a follow up to presentations she provided to parents during Open House and the November PTA meeting. The resources she mentioned at those meetings are shared below.
Grade 2-5 Parents: Please watch the video below on an informational website that can help you select books for your child from the library or online that are in their reading range. Titles of books students bring home can also be entered on the website to see if students are self-selecting books that are within their instructional reading range. If you any questions or need support using the website, please email Mrs. Del Balzo at erin_e_delbalzo@mcpsmd.org.
