BSS Weekly Update
February 10th thru February 14th
From the Desk of the Principal
Today was a great day at BSS as we gave our Faculty St. Francis Award out at Morning Assembly. This years recipient, Clare Sutton, embodies all that we want from our teachers here at BSS. She is compassionate, talented, humble, and kind. She always puts others first, most importantly her students. I can personally say that she is the type of teacher we all strive to be when we make the decision to enter the vocation of education. For walking in the footsteps of St. Francis and being an amazing member of our community she truly deserves this award, and I hope you can congratulate Clare when you see her.
Have a great weekend, 5 more wake ups then break!
Blessings,
Dustin
Notes from Nancy
Notes from Nancy-
The characteristic trait for this month is LOVE, and love is certainly in the air here at Blessed Sacrament School. At our closing Mass for Catholic Schools Week 2020 our Kindergarteners confidently sang “Love Grows One by One”. Our halls are filled with sentiments of what we love about BSS. The middle school students compiled a list of what love means. One states that everyday we pray and show love for God, as proclaimed at our Morning Assembly. Another states to love, and we demonstrate this with our commitment to direct service such as Project Do Something.
In John 15:12 it is stated “This is my commandment: love one another as I love you.”
We strive every day to live that verse as a school community. Pictured below is a bulletin board compiled by our staff and teachers that speaks to the importance of every student in our school. Each student is represented with a reason they are loved at BSS. This is how “Love Grows, One by One" and through our whole school. I hope that you can keep love in your heart and watch it grow in your child.
Peace and Love,
Nancy

What an amazing time we had at Purse Bingo last week! Thank you Marlene Safi and Jen Hague for planning such a fun event for our school. Even though not everyone won a purse, we had fun and had the opportunity to open our school to our friends and family so they all had a chance to see what a wonderful community we have here!
Let's keep the momentum going for our gala which is less than 2 months away! Tickets are no now on sale and formal invitations will be going out next week. We look forward to seeing everyone at our 80s dress event on Thursday!
- 80s Dress Event - On Thursday, February 13th we will hold our 80s dress extravaganza at school. We will have dresses in all sizes, styles and colors. There will be private areas for people to change or wear something that the dresses can be tried over. Even if you don't find a dress we will have a few 80s accessories (earrings, headbands, corsage) for you to purchase plus a preview of some auction items! Please RSVP to the event using the link below so we know how many to expect.

We also send special thank yous to Marlene Safi and Jennifer Hague for all their hard work organizing the school’s very first Purse Bingo Night, to Karen Antonetti, Alexis Landry and Lynne Bongette for another successful Park Street book fair, and to Alexis Landry for her work with the monthy Dine Arounds.
