The causes and effects of gun violence
The US has the largest amount of civilian owned guns in the world. With about 270 million guns registered. With all these guns its no surprise that there is gun violence, but should all these guns be taken away and leave our citizens unarmed against threats?
Many people think that the way to reduce gun violence is to get rid of private gun ownership, but doing so may actually increase the gun violence rates. Taking away guns from law abiding citizens would leave them not only unable to defend themselves from a robber or attacking animal, but many people have to own guns to hunt, not just for sport, but to provide food and money for themselves and their families.
