Digital Waitaha are visiting our school on the 20th of March to work with our learners around Digital Safety. As part of this programme there is a parent information session. The session covers: Raising children in the digital age comes with additional challenges. How do we keep our children safe and well online? What do we need to be on the lookout for when using digital devices? What are the benefits and negatives of our children's interactions that we need to be paying attention to when they are online?
The evening is highly recommend from all of us here. Please vote on our facebook page on what time you'd like - afternoon or evening!
Carew Peel Forest Swim Festival
Please join us next Friday for our Carew Peel Forest Swim Festival.
It is a celebration of all the teaching, learning and success our students have had in the pool. We are excited to have our community back to watch this festival of top quality, high performance swimming skills!
Key Information!
Children will require:
Swimming Togs, Towels x2, Warm Jersey, Thermals, and PLEASE NO WETSUITS.
Parents viewing area is north side of the pool on the grass area. Please stay in this area.
Preschoolers need to remain in this area also and will need to be watched closely.
Tarahaoa classes start at 11am, followed by a community picnic lunch. Our BBQ will be cooking tasty, steaming sausages for a Gold coin donation. All funds will go to the flood recovery efforts in the North Island. Our children will put on a performance to display our kapa haka learning this year. Join us for a feed and a cup of tea. We will hold a Care Crew relay at 1.30pm followed by the Huatekerekere class events.
Flood Relief
Our Vision - Caring for Ourselves, Our Learning, Our Community, Our World is part of our curriculum and sits at the heart of all we do. A number of children have asked us how we can help the communities up North that have been devastated by flooding. Please join us next Friday at 12.30 or so for a performance and a bbq where we will ask for a gold coin donation to support the flood relief efforts. We have swung into action to learn some new songs - so please join us!
AHH!
PLEASE NAME ALL CLOTHING! Can you imagine the chaos when t-shirts are not named when our young ones (or our older students!) are getting changed at swimming? You can help reduce the madness by naming your child's clothing!

Meet the teacher!
Thank you to all whom came to our Meet the Teacher/Hopes and Dreams chat. It is the first step of our new reporting system. Please remember our staff are always available to chat, just make contact with them to arrange a time.

All bus messages must be communicated with the school office please. Via txt to 027 6963557, phone or email. Communication is important for us to keep everyone safe!

Class Dojo!
Check your child's bag for your Class Dojo logins!
Or, please click on the Class Dojo image below and follow the instructions to access Class Dojo. You will receive updates from your child and what they are learning in class. The reason for changing programmes was that Seesaw was simply costing too much.
Class Dojo, Facebook, and our School App will be our primary sources for information.
Our School APP
We are moving with the times and now have a school app! It is the best way to communicate. Please download it as we will be using it a lot! You can use it to receive messages and lets us know about absences.
Check it out!
