1821 to 1848 Computer History

1821-Analytical Engine

With a struggle for bankers and engineers to create accurate tables. Charles Babbage attempted to solve this by starting work on Babbage Engine. It took until 2002 to complete and weighed 5 tons.

1823-Silicon

Baron Jons Jackob makes silicon which is they most basic unit of a IC. A IC is a searies of path ways for circuits, which is very important for a computer.

1827-First Camera

The first camera was invented by Joseph Nicephone. Camera's have recently been placed in modern computer's and other electronic devices.

1829-Type Writer

Type writer is invented by W.A Burt. The type writer was the bases for the keyboard and introduced a more efficient way to write.

1830-Electric Motor

Thomas Davenport invents first electric motor. The electric motor would evolve into the battery which is the power source for all most all computers.

1831-Telegraph

The very first working telegragh is constructed. It introduced the concept of long distance communication which has made the internet and computer so popular.

1835-Calculator

Charles Babbage also invented the first mechanical calculator.

1839

First fuel cell created by Sir William Robert Grove.

1844

First telegraph message sent. The US government asked that the line would be placed from Washington DC to Baltimore. Telegraphs would then become a major factor of the Civil War.

1847

In 1847 Thomas Edison was born and he was a influential character in bringing electricity to peoples home. Opening the Pearl Street power station in New York City.
