HOWL
Where our purpose is learning & making connections
June 4, 2020
"There was nothing like a Saturday- unless it was the Saturday leading up to the last week of school and into summer vacation. That of course was all the Saturdays of your life rolled into one big shiny ball." --Nora Roberts
Connecting with Each Other
- Thank you for all your hard work during distance learning, please enjoy the last week of school
- End of the year celebration: Wolf Pack Crawl on June 9th
CONNECTING WITH OUR LEARNING
In our distance learning model, we have identified three priorities for learning:
TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF - priority #1
- Enjoy the weekend. Summer is almost here!!!
- Ways to stay Healthy, Educated, & Entertained while we are at home
- Here is an ongoing list of ways to stay connected with others while you are at home
CONNECT WITH STUDENTS - priority #2
- Creative and fun ways to engage our students in Virtual Learning
- Here is a link full of resources as we embark on virtual learning, please feel free to add to this list- with an explanation about the site to share with everyone
- Here are some things we want to remember even if we never have to think about distance learning again.
PROVIDE FEEDBACK - priority #3
- On Monday June 8, teachers will add the names of students in the class that did not respond to the survey and “student did not respond” into the cells where other students responded to the survey (this can be done with a quick "click and drag" in the spreadsheet - please do not type multiple times). Teachers will add feedback for these students' strengths and growth areas too.
- Here is a quick and easy instruction sheet about the summative report.
- Easy & Efficient Feedback ideas
Connecting with Our Future
Our Purpose
Our school goal: “During the 2019-2020 school year, Washington Middle School will connect with others, connect to our own learning and connect to our future. Our connectedness will be measured by smiles, celebrations, feedback and learning targets.”
Time to Master Our Process
A Survey about priorities
The schedule for next year includes time set aside for structured play. We will have time to discuss plans for this time.

Autonomy
Perhaps more than any summer break in the past, it will be important that everyone checks his or her email over the summer. There will undoubtedly be updates on our school plans for the fall and we don't want anyone to be left out.
