A NOTE FROM MR. FRANKLIN, PRINCIPAL
Fargo Public Schools Change in Instructional Plan Levels
We will continue with Elementary In-Person Instruction (Level 4) which is four days per week of in-person instruction (Monday-Thursday) and one day of distance learning (Friday). This model allows:
- Teachers to have preparation and planning time to work with students that are quarantined.
- Teachers to receive preparation and planning time in a manner that does not increase mixing different classrooms of students during times such as recess and lunch.
Additionally, an hour will be added back to the in-person instruction days to the end of the school day. Drop off times for students will remain 15 minutes prior to the school’s start time. After an evaluation of COVID-19 impacts in Fargo Public Schools in Level 4, FPS will make determinations of when to return to in-person instruction five days per week.
Jefferson Elementary School day will be as follows:
8:05 a.m.-- Students are able to enter the building
8:20 a.m.-- School starts
2:42 p.m.-- School ends
Students will not be able to be in the building until 15 minutes before the bell and will go right to their classroom. Parents will not be allowed to walk their students in the building. We will continue to have staff guiding students in the building and to their classrooms.
Upcoming Events

Notification of Free Meals During Distance Learning
Dear Parent/Guardian:
Due to the increasing need of meals in our district, Nutrition Services has decided to make meals available at your school to any student who chooses to take one. These meals will be available on the last day your child attends school for the week. The meals are intended to be consumed on their remote distance learning days. These meals were originally required to be pre-ordered online. However, to make this process easier on students, teachers, parents, and nutrition staff, we have opted to try this method. If your child has special allergies and accommodations for medical purposes, please continue to fill out the meal form online at this address: https://www.fargo.k12.nd.us/Page/2568.
Sincerely,
FPS Nutrition Services

PARKING LOT SAFETY
Thank you to all the drivers who take extra precautions when picking up or dropping off students in the parking lot. Please use the pickup and drop off area, so we do not block incoming and outgoing traffic. Last, please be sure the children are on the curb side of your vehicle, so they do not have to step into traffic. Thank you for your assistance.
Positive Behavior at Jefferson
Every year, Jefferson has a different schoolwide theme. This theme is incorporated into our monthly Character assemblies and celebrations. This year’s theme is Bobcats are all in this together. It is a theme stating that we will work together and support each other as we work through this difficult time.
BOBCAT EXPECTATONS
Bobcats are in charge of their learning.
BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR GOLDEN TICKETS!
Golden Tickets are given to students when an adult notices them showing Bobcat expectations and following the school rules (being responsible, respectful and safe). At the end of each month 2 Golden Tickets are drawn from each class and those lucky winners get to sit at a special lunch table known as the Golden Table.
WHAT IS A SELF MANAGER?
Many students at Jefferson have shown that they ALWAYS show Bobcat expectations. These students can apply to be Self Managers. A Self Manager gets a special badge which means they do not need to use hall passes. There are also weekly celebrations for the Self Managers and many other privileges. Any student can be a Self Manager if they work hard at it and make good choices for themselves!
