Project-Based Learning Presentation Tool
Students will "fall" head-over-heels for SMORE projects!
What I love about SMORE:
- Students can change the design, background, colors, and fonts.
- Students can add text, pictures, an event, audio, embed a link, add a form, create titles, add a gallery, insert biographical information, and insert videos.
- SMORE projects "feel" like a webpage, but it's a poster/flyer, which makes it easier to create, navigate, edit, and publish.
- Published SMORE projects can be shared easily via URL.
PBL and Text Features
SMORE provides a tool to facilitate Project-Based Learning while integrating multiple CCSS. Think about how this tool provides students with a way to use text features, such as picture titles and picture descriptions or captions.
Student Choice in Presentation Tool
SMORE is a publishing and presentation alternative to a Google Site and Glogster. SMORE provides students with easy creation and the ability to write in various modes. Think about how this tool could be used for an argumentative project and argumentative writing. Students could create a SMORE advocating for one side of an issue and use links, text evidence, and photos to support their side of the issue.
Authentic Audiences
SMORE provides students with the opportunity to publish and share their work. SMORE projects are published in the searchable SMORE site, and students can share their presentations via URL. That means that students can embed their SMORE into a blog, a tweet, an email, a classroom website, etc. Most importantly, due to these sharing options, a SMORE allows students to write and publish for a real audience beyond the teacher and classmates.
