CCPS Technology Integrator

What is a Technology Integrator

A technology integrator facilitates technology assistance by providing quality instructional resources, exemplary training, and friendly customer service to empower division members to integrate and use technology to support division goals. I also design, create, and implement training and instruction, in order to provide professional development aligned with division goals, to all members of the division, including division leaders, administrators, specialists, teachers, and support staff.

A Little About Me

I am originally from Atlanta, Georgia, but I have spent the last seven years calling home wherever the Army send us. My husband has been stationed at Fort Campbell, KY, Fort Lee, VA, Fort Knox, KY, and now back again to Fort Lee, VA. Through all our Army moves, I have been able to teach and work in a variety of middle and high schools. I have learned to be flexible, but I also understand how difficult change can be and how overwhelming new technologies can feel as a teacher.

I have six years of classroom experience, and I have taught Reading, Reading in the Content Area, World Cultures, English, Writing, and Newspaper. I attended college in Atlanta, GA at Georgia State University where I earned a B.A. in English with a minor in history and a concentration in secondary education. I completed my Master's of Curriculum and Instruction with a specialty in technology integration from the University of Florida. I decided with our move back to Virginia that I wanted to pursue my passion for using technology in the classroom in a different way, so I applied to be a technology integrator. I am very excited to be part of Chesterfield County, and I am looking forward to helping teachers navigate all the new technology changes ahead.

On a more personal note, when I am not working or moving, I enjoy spending time with my family. My husband, Adam and I have a nine month old daughter, Mia, and a two year old son, Joshua. My children keep me very busy, but when I have a free moment I enjoy reading a good book.

Weekly Integrator Support Days

Last year, Integrators across the county began a new procedure where teacher would sign-up for a time slots that fit within their busy schedules. These appointments were not mandatory but encouraged as a way for us to meet your individual or small group needs. I could help you:

  • plan a technology-rich lesson
  • offer advice on a particular technology
  • troubleshoot when necessary
  • teach you something new

This trend will continue for the 2013-2014 with an even better sign-up method. This new Google sign-up will help us to more accurately track our data while also eliminating end-user error. This year, TUESDAY is my support day for Bird HS and Thursday is my support day for Meadowbrook HS. Each week, I will be available in your building to provide technology support. The time slots on the sign-up sheet are now listed in 15 minute increments. Allowing you the option of of signing up for numerous slots to accommodate your needs.

I look forward to working with you this year!
