Principal's Message

Dear Webster families,

Our Spring Fling Festival is coming up on Friday from 6-8pm. This will be similar to our very fun and popular Fall Festival that had to be postponed last fall. We will have lots of family fun and games:

  • Game Booths
  • Music and Dancing
  • Cake Walk
  • Food and Drinks

PTA has created a Signup Genius form with time slots. Each volunteer will receive two food/drink tickets.

If you have questions email websterptapresident@gmail.com

Part of the Signup Genius form is donating cakes or cupcakes for the Cake Walk and bringing pop-up tents for us to borrow.

As you know, masks are no longer required for students and staff but are strongly recommended indoors at Pasadena Unified schools and childcare sites. The relaxed rules come in response to declining COVID-19 cases, fewer hospitalizations, and increasing vaccination rates.

Mask mandates remain in place in the following circumstances:

  • Exposed students, identified as close contacts, must wear masks for 10 days after exposure.

  • Exposed students who are unvaccinated or not fully vaccinated must wear masks upon returning to school from quarantine from Day 6 through Day 10.

  • Students and staff members on a bus or other PUSD transportation must wear masks at all times.

  • Students and staff on a field trip at a public facility must wear masks while indoors.

  • Students, staff, and community members at a PUSD testing or vaccination clinic must wear masks.

  • Masks will also be required in the school Health Offices and the PUSD Primary Clinic as these offices provide health care.

All visitors and volunteers must wear a mask indoors and outdoors while on campus. Visitors are by appointment only and may only go to the main office. Parents may not go into classrooms, onto the playground or walk the halls unless walking to the main office.

Please be sure to follow all traffic and pedestrian laws to and from school. Please do not make U-turns on Washington Blvd nor on Pepper Dr. It is especially unsafe at our parking lot exit.

Tax Deductible Giving through Webster's Annual Fund

Daniel Webster Elementary School has been honored as a California Distinguished School. Great teachers, strong leadership, and parent involvement make Daniel Webster a great school to send our children.

In addition to the great education our students receive, they are also provided with various opportunities to participate in our music and arts activities. We're asking for your support to continue this legacy by donating to the Daniel Webster Annual Fund and help us reach our goal of $50,000.

These funds will be used to financially support our music and arts programs, and to support the instructional goals set forth by the School Site Council
We would like to see every family donate at least $1.00 per week ($50 for the school year) for each child they have enrolled at Daniel Webster.

Think of it as donating less than the cost of a weekly cup of coffee or soft drink to help ensure that your child receives a high quality education.

If you can donate more, we would encourage you to donate towards our Giving Tree. We have various levels of donations:
Bronze - $100
Silver - $200
Gold - $300
VIP - $500 or more

If you are not able to contribute financially please consider donating your time and talents.

To donate:

If you are making matching gifts through an employer, please let them know that they must provide PEF's information to their employer in order for us to confirm their gift.

Weekly COVID-19 Testing at the School Site

At its regular meeting on August 26, 2021, the Pasadena Unified School District (PUSD) Board of Education took decisive action to bolster safety measures that protect students and employees from COVID-19. The Board of Education voted unanimously to:

  • ratify an existing testing plan that places mobile testing teams at schools for students and employee testing and now requires

    • all students under age 12 to get weekly COVID-19 tests with informed consent from parents/guardians

Testing will be offered at Webster Elementary on Thursdays from 8:00am to 3:30pm.

PUSD offers COVID-19 PCR oral or nasal swab tests on campuses

Testing teams will be at each elementary and middle school site for one day to conduct the testing program. PUSD Health Programs will not test students who have not submitted informed consent.

Visitors must wear masks, including those picking up students from the after school programs. Please remember that visitors are by appointment only. Visitors may make an appointment by emailing our office clerk, Ms. DeabregoPaz at deabregopaz.frances@pusd.us or our office manager, Linda Rojas at rojas.linda@pusd.us or by calling (626)396-5740.

Our office will reopen on August 4th and will be able to provide you with needed information on or after this date.

In our commitment to take the appropriate measures to protect all student information and privacy, we are making changes to the requirements for all passwords within Aeries student, parent, and staff portal accounts.
