7th Grade Field Trip

The Legacy and Journey teams traveled to the Franklin Institute on Tuesday. It was a beautiful day in the city and our students had a blast! Trip highlights included climbing through the brain, loving the inside of the heart, and looking at the sun from the conservatory. A major highlight of the trip was exploring Jurassic World: The Exhibition. This exhibit is based on the blockbuster movies, and allowed students to come face to face with amazing prehistoric creatures as they came to life in a simulated Jurassic Park. Students worked together to complete a Franklin Institute scavenger hunt. Groups were asked to locate different things throughout the museum and snap their pictures at each stop. Students thoroughly enjoyed this challenge and were very busy trying to complete it. Chaperones, teachers and students were connected with the Remind Me app. This was a great way for teachers to pass messages on to chaperones. Students and chaperones were able to upload pictures for the scavenger hunt through the app. It was a great day for our students!

Spring Pep Rally

Teachers faced off against students in basketball game at our Pep Rally today. It was a hard fought game with the teachers edging a win by one point. The Freshmen took the Spirit Stick for their louder-than-loud response to the Tamanend Tiger's cheer. They dedicated the Spirit Stick to Mr. Kevin Ketler.

We thank Angel D. for beautifully singing our National Anthem. Thank you Mr. Werner and the Pep Band, all student and teacher players and refs, our Tiger, and most of all, we thank our Student Council Officers and Advisors for sponsoring all Pep Rallies this year--Awesome!

Conferences Tomorrow

STUDENT-Parent/Guardian-Teacher Conferences will be held tomorrow. Notice that we have placed extra emphasis on student. We believe that student reflection and input is the most crucial part of all conferences. We expect them to be present and ready to share thoughts on their progress so far and plans for a positive completion of the school year.

Note: Not all students require a conference. Conferences are scheduled for students based on teacher and/or parent/guardian request.

What do teachers do?

Do you wonder what our teachers do on professional development days, such as Feb. 16-17? We recently produced a video on that subject that was shown at the CB Board of School Directors meeting March 28. It's posted here.

Nominate a TMS Student for Boomerang Recognition

Young person reads for pleasure most days of the week, either alone, with family members, or with friends. Anyone can nominate a Tamanend student. Parents/Guardians, grandparents, neighbors, siblings, friends... the more students nominated, the more there is to celebrate! Please click here to submit your Boomerang nomination.
