ROCORI District Office
December 2019: Community Update
Respectful, Open and Honest, Compassionate, Optimistic, Ready, and Inclusive
Dear ROCORI Community-
One of our goals for the 2019-2020 school year is to increase positive communication throughout the district. Since the beginning of the school year our buildings have been using the SMORE platform to do that. The District Office is going to follow their lead! Monthly and as needed we will be sending out the newsletter as well as posting it on line on our website. We are looking for district wide stories and events to share. Should you have a great story or event to share please email them to Holly Gazett at firstname.lastname@example.org or Kayla Youngblom at email@example.com to let us know. Go Spartans!
ROCORI Schools has an Angel Account
The community of ROCORI is such a giving place. We cannot thank individuals, our civic and faith based organizations enough for their support! Individuals often ask us if there anything I can do to help. We have a new idea. The idea put in place is to help kids get the food they need to feed their body and mind.
Sometimes life is hard for families, and unforeseen circumstances arise. This is why there is a NEW Food Service Angel Account in ROCORI. This account is set up to provide families that are struggling with financial hardship an opportunity to “catch up” on foodservice payments through donations. When applicable, the “ANGEL” Account is accessed to provide hot lunches to students.
You can donate to the angel account through REVTRACK, our online payment center at ROCORI. Just log into REVTRACK and choose the ANGEL Account Button on the Main Menu. In addition, you can send a check (To ROCORI) or connect with our Food Service Director, Chris Barker (firstname.lastname@example.org) to find out more information.
ROCORI Schools thanks you for your generosity and Helping Make a Difference Today for a Better Tomorrow!

Curriculum & Instruction
During the 2019-20 school year World Language, Industrial Technology and Science Departments will be implementing their new curriculum. Science will be implementing Mystery Science at the Elementary Level, Amplify at the Middle School, and new Physical Science curriculum at the High school. World Language is implementing a locally created curriculum and Industrial Technology is strengthen their programs through 3D printers, robotics kits and a CNC plasma router.
The departments in the curriculum selection year of the ROCORI Curriculum Adoption Cycle are PE/Health, Visual Arts, Music and Media.
Response to Intervention
Our District Response to Intervention (RtI) team’s goal is to provide quality instruction for ALL students in the classroom, in small group settings, and for individuals. The team also helps to set goals for the district each year for the World’s Best Workforce (WBWF) plan that we submit to the Minnesota Department of Education. Our team has recently been working on selecting and implementing a data warehouse system that centralizes all student academic, testing, discipline, and other data in one place so that teams can access the data quickly and efficiently.
ROCORI’s staff development committee is hard at working pulling together the annual teacher workshop day called Academy Day. This is a unique day where the teachers become the students. Each teacher gets to sign up for a variety of classes to help them grow professionally. ROCORI is collaborating again this year to New London Spicer, Holdingford and Benton Stearns Education District. Partnering with these districts has really added knowledge and experience to the classes provided.
