A Message From Principal Choquette 3/1/19
Good afternoon, and happy March! What a busy week back after the winter break. I hope you all had a nice week with your children.
Congratulations to Leslie Stein! She is the winner of the Grinspoon Excellence in Teaching Award. We are so proud of you Leslie, thank you for all that you do for the students at Bridge Street School.
This week the kids kicked off their Jump Rope for Heart fundraiser. The kids are having a blast doing all of the activities. The gym looks great as does the hallway outside. Thank you Mrs. Flaherty for organizing the event.
This week Bridge Street School participated in the African-American Read-Off. Thank you to Miss Liz for organizing this event and thank you to our guest readers who came in and read to many of our classrooms yesterday. Please see the pictures below of the nice display of books that were outside of the library.
Please see the flyer below regarding the upcoming Parent Cafe's for Dads. At Parent Cafés we share information and ideas that help us take care of ourselves, build strong relationships with our kids and raise children who thrive. Together we can talk about the challenges of parenting and build the resilience we need to be good parents. We will create a community that supports us in keeping our children safe and our families strong!
Finally, there is a half day of school on March 15th. Dismissal will be at 12:20 p.m. Be sure to look for the bagged lunch form that comes home with your child to fill out and return if a bag lunch is needed.

Girls on the Run
GIRLS ON THE RUN ---> REGISTRATIONS IS OPEN!
Girls on the Run(GOTR) is returning to Bridge Street School again this Spring and if you have a 3-5th grade girl, we hope you'll join us!
GOTR is an innovative after school program that inspires girls to be joyful, confident and healthy. The curriculum encourages the girls to recognize their individual strengths and celebrate connections with others. It’s all about girl power and no running experience is necessary (and really running is just a small part of the fun!).
Practices meet twice a week from March 11th-June 2nd at Bridge Street school on Mondays and Fridays from 3:00-4:30pm.
And, if you are enrolled in BASE on those days, you can pro-rate that BASE session and do both programs seamlessly.
The deadline to sign up is Wednesday March 6th. You can register here! (The registration link refers to a lottery but that is typically for bigger schools that need to go on a wait list for registrants.)
GOTR makes it possible for all girls to participate! There is a sliding scale, financial aid available and no girl is turned away.
If interested or would like to learn more, please reach out Bridge St parent and volunteer coach Alex Russell: alexandra.russellb@gmail.com or GOTR program director Molly Hoyt: molly.hoyt@girlsontherun.org / 413-320-1845.
