Adding Additional Classes

Our campus continues to grow! Our enrollment is over 1,330 students at this time. Due to these numbers we have exceeded the appropriate staff to student ratios in most of our grade levels.

We will be adding classrooms in the following grade levels: Kinder, Second, 2 in Third, 2 in Fourth and 2 in Fifth.

We are working to place teachers throughout the district from campuses that had lower than expected enrollment, then we will be looking to hire additional teachers for these grade levels.

Notes will be sent home with students throughout the class-leveling process. We appreciate your understanding and support throughout this process.

Student Jobs for 3rd, 4th and 5th Graders!

Last week we received numerous applications for student jobs! Our students show so many great qualities of leadership.

Students will be receiving letters this week to let them know which jobs they were selected for, and when they'll meet with their sponsors.

Lunch Visitors!

Seating at lunch is extremely limited in our cafeteria for visitors due to continued increases in student enrollment. Today during several lunch times, we experienced extreme overcrowding at the visitor tables. Fridays tend to be high volume days for visitors, so we suggest selecting other days during the week to avoid the overcrowding experienced today. In order to provide maximum seating opportunities for guests during lunch, we ask that all follow these requests:

Limit visits to birthdays or a maximum visit of once per week
Visitors limited to a maximum of 3 per student and must be persons who meet KISD visitor guidelines for elementary students.
Avoid Mondays, Fridays, and days before holidays, whenever possible
Sit side by side at the visitor tables to provide maximum seating availability
Visitors must sit with their child only at a table designated for visitors
Due to Safety Rules, and guidelines from the Fire Marshall we cannot allow visitors sitting on the floor
Since our first obligation is to provide optimal seating for students, we will continue to monitor the number of visitors at lunch. If we continue to experience overcrowding with lunch visitors, we will consider implementing additional guidelines to ensure adequate seating during student lunches. We are hopeful that if all parents follow the requests listed above, our school will continue to have daily seating available for all who wish to have lunch with their child/ren. Thank you for your patience as our Bethke family continues to grow.

Bullying Prevention and Intervention Information

A safe learning environment for all Katy ISD students and staff is our top priority. Throughout this school year, you will see an increased focus on building awareness and enhancing systems that support both the physical and emotional well-being of all our children. This includes our video series on bullying prevention and intervention. Check out our latest video, “What Does Bullying Look Like?.” More information about policies and procedures related to bullying can be found here.

The forecast this week calls for some much needed rain! In the event that it is raining during dismissal, we call a "rainy day dismissal." On these days, bus, car and day care riders go their usual way.

Walkers must have a "rainy day" plan.

This will be the way they go home when a rainy day dismissal is called. Homeroom teachers should know how your walker is to go home if it is raining. Note--if your walker is a car rider on rainy day, please understand the car rider likely moves much slower on rainy days. Your child could still be a walker on rainy days, it just means they would still walk in the rain. We won't release students if there is lightening or severe weather. We would just hold them until the weather is safe for walking.

A text and email will be sent by 3:15 if it is called a "rainy day".

Grade Level Shirts!

At Bethke, we wear "grade level shirts" on Mondays to celebrate a new week. These are also worn on field trips, etc. Grade Level Shirts can be purchased for $15.00 or at the front office during the school year! The grade level colors are posted below.
