Pet Policy

We all love our 4-legged pets!

If you are working with your pet to drop off or pick up, please be sure to keep your dog at least 50 feet from all gate entrances. We do have students (and adults!) who are fearful of dogs.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Feeling Symptoms? Stay Home!

We have had many students coming to campus complaining that they are sick, or were sick the day before. They've also shared that they had taken medicine in the morning.

Please remember to keep your child at home and call the attendance line at (408) 264-8837, if they are feeling sick. Someone from the front office will give you a call to let you know of next steps. We all have to do our part to keep everyone on campus safe. Thank you!

Lietz HSC Needs You!

We are still looking for a Vice President to join the HSC Executive Board. You will have plenty of support to help you along the way!

This is a great way to get involved in your community and at your school!

Air Quality Update from USD

Union School District refers to, and follows, the guidelines in the School Air Quality Activity Recommendations, which were created by the California Department of Education in partnership with the California Air Resources Board, California Air Pollution Control Officers Association, California County Superintendents Educational Services Association, Association of California School Administrators, and California School Boards Association.

When the air quality is unhealthy for sensitive groups (orange), unhealthy (red), or higher (purple and maroon), district staff consistently checks the websites below to inform our decisions as to when we will recommend our school limit outdoor activities per guidelines from the CA Environmental Protection Agency.

We are requesting a few things if you are dropping off or picking up students.

  • Use the drop off loop through the parking lot.

  • Please do not get out of your car in the drop off zone. Have your child sitting on the passenger side with his/her school materials ready so that she/he can quickly exit the car and we can keep the drop off zone moving.

  • Everyone should cross in a crosswalk, including parents. Please help us set a good example for our students.

  • Please do not stop in the middle of the street, pull into neighbors’ driveways, or make illegal U-turns as this causes both traffic and safety problems.

Let’s work together to make the streets around our school safe. Thank you for your cooperation.
