Kirk Fenton News
10th January 2020
Dear Parents / Carers,
Happy New Year! Welcome back, I hope you all had a peaceful Christmas break.
This week at school has started at a pace as usual. We had 26 of our dancers attend a dance festival this week. They were able to showcase the work they have been doing at Dance Club to other schools and in return watched the work of the other schools. I am very proud of their achievements and they represented our school beautifully.
Today we have had a pantomime visit (Oh yes we have!) and I am very grateful to Friends of Kirk Fenton for arranging and paying for it. The children thoroughly enjoyed it and it was a lovely way to start the new year.
Finally, just a couple of reminders:
PE kits consist of red shorts and a white top with a tracksuit or joggers for cold weather and should be kept in school. We are seeing an increase in pupils who think that they can't do PE if they don't have their kit! As PE is a compulsory subject, just like English and maths, all pupils are expected to take part unless we have a letter from a parent giving a medical reason for exemption. We now hold spare kit in school so everyone can take part in the correct kit.
Can you please ensure that your children are with you and walking sensibly when coming into and leaving the school. Please stick to the paths and do not allow your children to run through or play in the car park. We are having a number of knocks and bumps as children run ahead and whilst we do ensure where possible that gates are shut, there is sometimes movement of vehicles. Thank you.
Have a lovely weekend,
Mrs Karen Williams
