The Benefits of School and Family Partnerships
When teachers and families partner together to support student achievement, students get better grades, they come to school on a regular basis and they do better socially. This collaboration between the school and family also helps foster more motivated students. When families collaborate with the school and their students education, it helps to lower the dropout rates. Students with involved parents have better attendance and they complete more homework. Parents can help participate in school by helping with functions and activities and most importantly just communicating with the teachers is key. Parents can get involved at home in many ways such as guiding their children to manage homework, completing in class assignments on time and staying focused. Parents can help their children by having discussions about values and attitudes regarding education.
