WASD Strategic Plan
"You never change your life unless you change something you do daily. The secret of your success is found in your daily routine."--John C. Maxwell, Leadership Expert and Author.
Our Path Note Topic
Another area of First Choice is Innovative Learning. The Innovative Learning Team, or TRAiIL Team. This team often works in tandem with the ATAW Team, or Any Time, Any Where learning.
The team will be working toward organizing tools and resources by strategy. They will establish a process for requesting new technology, instructional tech support, and training for new programs.
The process will include check out procedures for tech resources, instructional strategies and routines to share with staff.
Beyond that, the team will begin creating/curating videos of each strategy/routine for embedding into an onboarding course and curriculum applications. These procedures will be incorporated into the New Educator Induction and new staff onboarding program in order to review WASD straegies and routines.

Piece of the Puzzle
This Week's Piece of the Puzzle is Jenna Rankinen. Jenna is WASHS/WASD's College and Career advisor. She has supported the WASHS community in ways we can't begin to count! She's continued to grow the position with expanded college visits, website development for scholarships. Senior Shindig, Instant Decision Day...(the list is a long one!). Jenna meets with every junior and senior to help them plan for their future and provides suppport by working with them individually and in groups about career goals, college planning, financial aid-you name it. She makes the process fun and manageable for both students and their families in what can be an overwhelming process. She celebrates their successes and is a very encouraging and supportive resource. We've had a very 'unique' year and Jenna has gone above and beyond to fill in the gaps with college applications, recommendations, individual meetings, and program support and always with a smile and 'can-do' attitude.
Let's congratulate Jenna Rankinen for being this week's Piece of the Puzzle!
