the atakapans lived in the coastal plains. they hunted and fished for food. they ate fish and meat. they lived in dome houses called wickiups. Atakapans used the alligator oil as bug repellant. they used every part of the alligator. they don’t have a reservation or a government but still live in Louisiana and Texas. the atakapans belived in spirits and had a shawman control them.
