From Nutrition Services- No Charging Policy

No charging will be allowed starting May 9th. Students must have a positive balance in order to purchase items in the school cafeteria. Any student without a positive balance will receive an alternative meal at lunch. Please visit myschoolbucks.com to monitor account balances and set up low-balance email alerts. We appreciate your prompt attention in maintaining a positive meal balance. Additional information may also be found on the districts website www.gcisd-k12.org and Child Nutrition Facebook page.

From the School Nurse

If your student takes daily medications or has any as needed medication in the clinic, these need to be picked up no later than June 2, 2016 by the end of the day. *

Any medication remaining in the clinic after the 2nd will be disposed of according to GCISD medication destruction guidelines. Medication may not be left in the clinic for use for the following school year. As needed medications will be sent home with student's if appropriate beginning Tuesday May 31, 2016.

*Please remember to visit the CES Nurse website. There are many resources available including medical/medication permission forms, summer safety tips, and other ways you can be involved in health services.

*Any summer immunization/exemption form updates should also be brought to school before school starts in the fall. If your student is delinquent in receiving immunizations or exemptions at the start of school next fall, he/she may not be allowed to attend until the required updates have been made.

As always, please contact me with any questions/concerns.

Elementary Electives Survey

In the fall of 2015, the district solicited parent, staff and community member feedback through a new engagement tool, ThoughtExchange. Upon reviewing the feedback the district received, it became apparent that our elementary parents were interested in adding extracurricular activities to the school day. Unfortunately, due to the elements that must be taught through the state mandated curriculum, and the restrictions by the state for our school day, we are not able to add extracurriculars as part of our every day life at Colleyville Elementary. In order to meet the needs of our families the district is looking at offering some extracurricular activities after school for a fee. If you are interested in possibly participating in this after-school offering, please take this brief survey to provide us with your feedback on course offerings and schedule.

Special Needs Request

During the month of May, parents can fill out a special needs request form if you have any academic concerns that you want us to consider for next years placement of your child. These can be picked up in the office, and must be returned by May 26th. Please remember that we cannot take teacher or friend requests, only academic needs to consider. Thanks!

Campus Excellence Committee (CEC)

If you are interested in being a part of our Campus Excellence Committee (CEC), please let me know. We will have a drawing at the end of the year from those that enter their names for next year's committee. Thank you for your support of our school!
