FWCP Community Resources Newsletter Special Edition
We are excited to announce the official launch of a collaboration between Fort Worth ISD and The Tarrant To & Through (T3) Partnership to help more students find success after high school graduation! We believe that each and every student should be given the resources and opportunities to achieve lifelong success. Your encouragement and belief in your student's future helps them choose the right path after high school. We're here to support you in the process, too.
Completing the T3 Partnership Pledge is the first step students should take to become a T3 Scholar and start receiving supports from T3 – including a tuition-free last dollar scholarship to Tarrant County College for those who qualify. All FWISD juniors & seniors are eligible to participate. By taking the pledge, the T3 team will:
1) Support students on their journey to graduate high school
2) Help students create a customized plan for life after high school
3) Ensure that your student completes a degree or credential to attain a meaningful career and living-wage job
By taking the T3 Partnership Pledge prior to February 1, 2021 students could gain access to:
- Last Dollar Tuition-Free Scholarships to Tarrant County College
- First Dollar Scholarships to T3 Partner Universities
- Mentorship, Internship, & Job Shadow Opportunities
- College Transition & College Completion Support
- Bridge Programming Between High School & Postsecondary Enrollment
- Virtual Support for Postsecondary Deadlines
*Note, the T3 Partnership program supports vary by high school. Visit our website for more information!
For more information about the T3 Partnership Pledge, watch the T3 Partnership Pledge Overview video! We have also created this informative 1-pager (also available in Spanish here) for a brief overview of the program. You can also check out the Student & Family Handbook for a more in-depth guide through the T3 Partnership Pledge program. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to us via email at support@t3partnership.org.
To become and remain eligible as a T3 Scholar, a student must meet the following requirements or criteria:
- Graduate from a Fort Worth ISD high school.
- Complete the T3 Partnership Pledge by Feb 1 of your senior year of high school.
- Be a U.S. Citizen eligible for in-state tuition or Non-U.S. Citizen eligible for in-state tuition who completes a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or Texas Application for State Financial Aid (TASFA) by March 1.
- For T3 scholarship eligibility, meet the following family income requirements as reported on the student’s FAFSA/TASFA below. If a student does not meet such criteria, they are still eligible for other T3 program supports. Check here for income thresholds.
- Apply to a T3 partner college or university by March 1.
- Meet all requirements outlined by the Texas Success Initiative Assessment (TSIA). Students who have not met TSIA requirements on or before July 31 will be asked to submit an academic success plan that outlines how they will meet such requirements. If a student should need to submit an academic success plan, eligible students will still receive ongoing T3 scholarships and support.
- Complete eight (8) hours of community service designed to cultivate a lifelong commitment to giving back. Service hours to take place each academic year beginning senior year of high school and as long as students receive T3 scholarship funding. Requirement pending COVID-19 during the 2020-2021 academic year.
- Enroll in a T3 partner college or university by July 31 and begin classes the fall semester immediately following high school graduation.
By completing the Partnership Pledge, this does not commit your student to attending a T3 partner college or university. The T3 Partnership is here to help your students along the way. For program benefits and opportunities by school, visit the Select Your High School page. For a full list of T3 Scholar requirements, visit our Eligibility Criteria page.
The T3 Partnership is committed to the advancement of Tarrant County students to improve their lives and the future of our region. Please help us spread the word and encourage students, families, and educators to learn more.
