SCREENINGS
Also shortly after that Postural (Scoliosis) screenings will be held during physical education class. If you choose not to have your child participate, please send in documentation from their pediatrician that they have been checked within this past year or a letter to the nurse asking for your child to opt out of this screening.
MCAS
Parents/Guardians,
1) Please make sure your student charges their Chromebook the night before each MCAS test. They should bring in their charged Chromebook and their charger.
2) Please make sure your student gets to school on time.
3) Please make sure to check the MCAS Testing Schedule (see above), so you know when the MCAS tests will be taken. You can write the test dates on your home calendar.
4) Please make sure your student gets a good night's sleep the day before each MCAS test. Getting a good night sleep is a good strategy on any night; however, it is especially important before taking tests. Students will be able to focus and concentrate better when they are well rested.
5) Please make sure your student gets breakfast the day of the test. Avoiding sugary or heavy foods is important. Having whole grains, fruits, yogurt, and/or eggs will give students the fuel they will need during the test. Breakfast will be made available to students at school. Students will go to homeroom and their homeroom will walk them down to the lunchroom to get breakfast if they want it. Breakfast is free; they just need to provide their pin number.
6) Remind your student to do their best and to have a positive attitude!
ABSENCE PROCEDURE AND ABSENCE NOTIFICATION SYSTEM FOR FAMILIES AND NEW EMAIL ADDRESS
Please call into the 24/7 Absence Line by the start of the school day (8:15 a.m.) to report your student's absence. Leave a message that states the name of your child and why they will be absent. To reach the absence line call 508-252-5080 and press 1. Alternatively, you may also email the Main Office at bmsattendance@drregional.org by 8:15 a.m. This email address can be used to report your student's absence as well as to report a tardy or dismissal.
Families of students who are marked as having an unexcused absence and who do not call the Absence Line or email the aforementioned email address by 8:15 a.m. will receive a phone call, text message, and email notification from the District to inform them of the student absence. The message will prompt families to call the Main Office to confirm the absence as soon as possible. The timing of the notification will be 9:15 a.m.
Please note that "Absences shall be considered excessive when students accumulate more than seven (7) full day unexcused absences or fourteen (14) half-day unexcused absences in a period of six (6) months. Please see page 13 and 14 of the Student Handbook for more information.
Absences with a doctor's note are considered excused absences. Please arrange for these doctor's notes to be sent to the Main Office via Fax Number at 508-252-5082 or via email at svincelette@drregional.org

MARCH LUNCH MENU
MYSCHOOLBUCKS INFORMATION
Account payments can be made through MySchoolBucks.com using a debit/credit card or checks at all cafeteria registers. Please make checks payable to “Dighton Rehoboth Regional School District” and include your student’s full name in the memo line.
School meals, both breakfast and lunch, are once again free (see below); however, all students must use the point of sale system to obtain a free lunch. Please encourage your child to remember their lunch pin number because it helps to move along the lunch lines. If a student forgets their pin, then the cafeteria workers need to look it up and this stalls the lunch line.
Students will need to pay for snacks not included with the free meal and this is the reason why a parent would want to put money on their child's account.
