State Assessments for 3rd - 6th Grade
The Kansas Assessment Program (KAP) includes a variety of instructional tools and tests that measure Kansas College and Career Ready Standards (KCCRS) in English language arts and mathematics, the Kansas Science Education Standards, and the Kansas Standards for History, Government, and Social Studies. These tests are designed to support educators and policy makers in evaluating student learning, as well as to meet the requirements for federal and state accountability. Ways in which students demonstrate mastery of the content can include teacher observation; classroom activities and projects; informal assessments such as homework assignments, quizzes, and tests; and state tests, which are standardized assessments students generally take at the end of the year. Our testing window is March 21 - April 22. Your child's teacher will be in communication about what specific days your child will be taking their assessments.
- English Language Arts assessed in Grades 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10
- Mathematics assessed in Grades 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10
- Science assessed in Grades 5, 8, 11
- History / Government assessed in Grades 4, 7, 11

Scholastic Book Fair!!! Mark your calendars!!! April 25th-29th!!!
We will be having our Scholastic book fair during the week of April 25-29th!
Last year, we had success using E-Wallet. This allowed parents to go online, put money in the Scholastic Wallet for their child to use when they come to the book fair! We will share information soon about how to set up the E-Wallet so your child can purchase books at the fair! Also, other family members can add money for your child in their EWallet! If you want to read more information about EWallet, check out this link: https://bookfairs.scholastic.com/bookfairs/articles/ewallet.html
The Scholastic Book fair will be held in the Emery Hall Library! Save the dates!!!

We are bringing back the Jackrabbit Booster club to promote/support our athletic program! Since we are all here to support our students in any way possible to make their athletic /fellowship experience here at KSD a memorable one. We would like to support our athletic programs here at KSD (K-12) by encouraging school spirit, fellowship, citizenship, academic excellence, physical growth and most importantly encourage our students to develop a ‘lifespan’ (healthy lifestyle) involvement habit.
If you are interested in helping out with the Booster Club, please contact Mike Wiesner at mwiesner@kssdb.org.
