Hope bags (Panther bags)
We are extremely fortunate to have a community resource called the H.O.P.E Packs Program. This free program provides bags of food for families on a weekly basis and is meant to be kid-friendly, easy to prepare and a supplemental food supply for families. The bags are sent home with your student every Friday, beginning September 9th.
If you feel your child could benefit from this free service, please contact our school counselor, Nikki Arnold at nikki_arnold@plsd.us

Trunk or Treat
Our Trunk or Treat is coming up this Sunday October 23 from 3 pm to 5pm! We're excited to see all the kids in their costumes, and we still have spots available for our Trunk Decorating Contest! Families who decorate their trunks and pass out candy receive free admission! Plus, we will have attendees vote on their favorite trunks, with prizes for the top 3 entries. Sign up to decorate your trunk for free admission here: https://forms.gle/ppocvbPYuWJXFubw6
(Discounted early registration to attend is now closed, but we will sell tickets at the entrance for $10 per family.)
Already registered? Our PTO needs a few more adults to help with our set-up and clean-up crews. Could you arrive an hour early to the event or stay for 45 minutes after to help us? Sign up to volunteer here: https://signup.com/go/ohOaAdD THANK YOU!

Student Drop off Procedures
Morning drop off ends at 9:15 a.m.
ALL student drop off in the morning is around the back of the school. We ask that parent(s)/guardian(s) not park in the parking lot before 9:15 a.m., to drop off your students. Our parking lot lane is for buses ONLY, to pull in to drop off students! This has been the procedure at Fairfield for many years and is for the safety of your child and for all of our students.
Parent(s)/guardian(s) are to get in the drop off line and follow the line around the building. There are staff there to release your student from your vehicle.
If it is after 9:15 a.m., then parents are to park in the parking lot (not in front of the school), then walk your child to the office and sign them in as late.
How Pickerington Schools Has Managed Its Resources Wisely
Further, Pickerington Schools offers a fantastic value compared to its Ohio Department of Education (ODE) similar district grouping. The charts below show the expenditure per equivalent pupil (EPEP) calculated by ODE for the 2020-21 school year. The EPEP weights the enrollment for expenditures for students in certain categories (e.g. special education, gifted, English Learners, etc.). The weights on these learners are added to recognize the additional staffing and other programmatic expenses to meet their needs. The EPEP is then compared to the Performance Index (PI) score on the 2020-21 Ohio School Report card. The district ranks 3rd highest in PI score, and does so by spending the 3rd lowest in the group.
Learn more about the bond issue on our website. Don’t forget that early in-person and absentee voting by mail is open now, and election day is Nov. 8. More information about voting is available on the Vote Ohio website.
