April 13, 2020
Updates & Reminders
- The Spring 2020 regular administration of the MCAS has been cancelled by Jeff Riley, Massachusetts Commissioner of Education.
- We will be working through April break in order for our students to have a sense of continuity. This change approved by our school committee last Monday.
- Remember, that Monday, 4/20, is still a holiday (Patriot's Day).
- Our last day of school will be Thursday, June 18th. (Not the 19th as previously communicated.)
- Kory Kotouch made a great video for showing credit and no credit on Infinite Campus. Find the video here.

What is happening with Term 3 Grades from before March 13?
The decision to combine terms 3 and 4 was made with the idea that we may not come back for the end of the year. Term 3 was scheduled to end on April 3, leaving 3 weeks and 1 day (1/3 of the term) unfinished.
Since we are giving credit or no credit for the remote learning work and it is within the combined 3/4 term, the term itself will be credit/no credit (essentially pass/fail). The grades that were submitted prior to March 13 will contribute to the overall pass/fail for the combined term (the number grades for the assignments will still remain on IC). Term 1 and 2 will remain as letter and number grades on IC.
We all recognize that students have worked really hard on their work. Some may equate working hard with a grade or a number, but I argue that the comments and feedback to students on what they have learned as compared to the standards is a much more valuable measure of achievement. In the end, it is not the grade that matters but the learning and understanding gained.
Congratulations to Jillian Wright!
Welcome Back Jenna!
