•• New & Important Information ••
Quarter 1 Progress Reports
The end of our first quarter of school was last Friday, November 3.
Teachers are busy preparing your student's fall progress report that each student will receive. The progress reports highlight your student's work in the classroom and help to prepare for Parent-Teacher conferences beginning next week. [Please note that progress reports provide a high-level overview, where report cards (distributed in February and June) will provide a greater depth of detail for your student.] This year, progress reports and report cards will be viewed online and not printed. All families should be able to view your student's progress report on Monday, November 13. If your student receives support through Special Education, those progress reports will be printed and sent home for your review on Monday, November 13. Lastly, if your student is in Kindergarten, you will be receiving printed copies of the fall WA Kids reports for your student(s).
Please see the note below from the district.
All progress reports and report cards this year will be available to families through the Report Card or Documents tab in ParentVUE. Historically, these reports have been printed and mailed home; however, due to our budget constraints we are changing our process. We recognize that some families may not have the ability to access ParentVue, so if a family needs a printed copy, they should contact the main office. More information about accessing ParentVUE or how to view progress reports is available online.

Superintendent Engagement Sessions for Families
We want to hear from our families! Superintendent Tolley is hosting engagement sessions to hear from families across Northshore throughout the school year. These are opportunities for families to share their perspectives directly with the superintendent. The next sessions are:
Tuesday, Nov. 14 from 6-7:30 p.m. in the Woodinville High School Library and
Thursday, Nov. 30 from 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. on Zoom (https://nsd.zoom.us/j/84544964679)
The primary topic of conversation will be 2024-25 budget development. No RSVP is needed. For a full schedule of session dates and locations, please visit the Superintendent’s webpage.
As we shared last week, Northshore, like many other school districts, is anticipating another budget deficit for the 2024-25 school year. As of October 1, the current expected shortfall is $26 million, equivalent to 5.7% of the total budget or $1,168 per student. You can learn more about the 2024-25 budget on the District webpage or by attending the superintendent’s family engagement sessions listed above.
Responding to next year’s shortfall will be challenging after we reduced millions from our budget for this school year, but it is necessary to ensure Northshore’s continued long-term success.
