President's Message

Brethren,

I hope this message finds you well. Before getting to far into this message, I would like to thank R:.W:. Henderson, R:.W:. Tyksinski, and R:.W:. Berndt for attending the January MWSA Business Meeting. All three offered many great ideas for the district and for our MWSA as a whole.

A few ideas brought to our attention are as follows; bring back Ritual Competitions for the district with a traveling plaque/trophy, and holding MWSA awards dinners for 25, 40, 50, and 60 years of service and their families present when allowed (many already do this but some do not). Another thought was having a recognition dinner for the District Service Team (DDGM, DCO, DI, and DEO) and a Back to Basics program. ALL are great ideas to consider but the following topic will start our educational path for this year.

Our training program, which was conducted by R:.W:. Berndt pertained to mentoring and the importance of it. Unsurprisingly, this topic generated great discussion. I, like so many others, believe in having a mentoring program. It is an important tool that may be used not only throughout our entire Masonic career but also in our professional and private lives. Mentoring will keep those who are studying their work and those who are teaching the work and those of us who are seeking more light focused on the tasks at hand and encourage them/us to stay involved.

Mentoring is about helping others and supporting them and each other. Many disappear after leaving the East and only they know the true reason why. Perhaps one reason is the feeling of not being useful once out of the East. This is far from the truth. Our Past Masters have so much knowledge and they would make great mentors.

I could go on and on but I won’t due to the length of this newsletter and your patience to sit and read it.

Sincerely,

Brother John Bradley

Lodge Google Calendars

Brothers,

Please work to keep your Lodge's Google Calendar that is linked to the District #108 Google Calendar up-to-date. With everyone's calendar up-to-date, Brothers from other Lodges will be able to plan to attend more events and meetings around our District. This will take some work on the part of whoever controls the individual Lodge's Google Calendar, but it will be well worth the time investment.

Thank you!
