Attention Teachers
Translating Report Cards For Your Students
Translated Report Cards
Dear D41 staff,
Happy New Year!
I hope your break was rejuvenating and provided you with long-lasting memories of a joyous season. As you may know, when families enroll in D41, they complete a number of registration forms, including a Language Preference Form (LPF). The LPF responses determine in which language families would like to receive their children’s report cards. This is mandated by ISBE regulations.
D41 has in place an option for Spanish speaking parents to receive a report card in English and Spanish through Skyward. However, we do not have report card translations readily available for other languages.
You may access this link on Ellyn which provides steps outlining how to provide report cards in other languages when parents request it. Additionally, the link can be found on the "Report Card Translation" web page on Ellyn under the TEACHER RESOURCES tab.
Note: Building assistants can generate a Data Mining Report to determine which families should receive report cards in a language in addition to English.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me with any questions regarding this legal requirement.
Thank you for your commitment to our students and families!
