The Weekly Update #4
September 11th, 2023
October 12, 2023
Remember Me...
All families are invited to send in photos and/or items in honor of family and friends that have passed to add to our Ofrenda, which means offering in Spanish. In Mexican culture, it is a tradition to create an altar to honor those that have passed during the Dia de los Muertos celebration.
Items can be sent in to the school office and should be labeled with your last name so they can be returned when the altar is taken down after November 2nd.
No School!
Please remember that there is no school tomorrow, October 13th due to conferences, and no school next Thursday and Friday, October 19th & 20th, due to MEA.
Panther Pride Gala
Important Information was sent out recently regarding our biggest fundraiser and community celebration of the year - the Panther Pride Gala. Please make sure you take the time to read all about it and find ways that you can get involved!
You can also now order your Gala Shirt! Order forms can be found here, or if you prefer a paper one you can request it from the school office.
Tuition Assistance Opportunity
Are you a registered parishioner at an area Catholic Church that is not Presentation and does not have its own school? If so, your church may be able to provide you with some tuition assistance! Many area churches (e.g. Blessed Sacrament, St. Casimir, etc.) will help fund tuition for registered parishioners that are attending a Catholic school. If this applies to you, please contact Mrs. Lovegreen to discuss the possibility.
Target Gift Card Referral Prize!
You have a great chance to earn $150 or $250 to Target!! Refer a family to the Presentation of Mary Discovery Center Preschool and you're set! View the flyer for full details below.
Join the Church Choir
We want to let everyone in the parish know that all ages are warmly invited to join our choir! Weekly rehearsals will be 90 minutes (6:30 - 8pm) and you can invite your friends and neighbors to come join us as well. We pray and sing together as a (growing) family, and like any family we want to include multiple age groups and generations. For now, rehearsals will be on Thursday nights at 6:30. The choir will sing for one weekend Mass (Sunday or Saturday) normally on the 3rd weekend of each month, from September through May, and also for special liturgies including Holy Week and Christmas. Each weekly rehearsal also includes vocal training and techniques. Only requirements to join: be able to read music to some degree of proficiency, carry a tune, match pitch - and truly love to "sing your prayer," from the heart! If you have any questions or ideas, please contact Donna at 408-406-6240 or by email at dstoering@presentationofmary.org.
Donald's Sale
If you need more uniforms items for your child, you're in luck! Donald's is having a Fall sale! Download the flyer below for details.

Presentation of Mary Catholic School, Kennard Street, Maplewood, MN, USA
We still have multiple volunteer opportunities open at the Halloween Party. Check them out at the link below. We also are still searching for a co-chair (or two or three - grab some friends and make it a group project!) for the party to learn the ropes and take over for next year. If you are interested in that aspect or have questions regarding it, please contact the SFO at SFO@pbvmstudents.org. Please take some time to consider this role so this fun tradition can continue, it is not as intimidating as it may sound and can be SO MUCH fun!
