Mrs. Hunecke's Happenings
December 14th-18th
Skills at a glance...
Review: am, little, I, the, is, see, a, to, me, from, on, can, my, like, we, be, here, and, have, it in, get, for, by, he, look, she, said
Please continue to review sight words at home. Here are a few fun ways to help your child study their sight words: basketball, baseball, and cheer! (They would love to show you their moves!)
Reading: We are having so much fun with our Gingerbread Man Unit! We will continue to focus on characters, setting, and plot. We will also be comparing and contrasting the different versions of the story. Ask your student about The Gingerbread Girl! She is the wiser sister of The Gingerbread Boy! :)
Writing: We are continuing with narrative writing in our journals.
Math: Topic 15: Position and Location of Shapes
Science: My 5 Senses
Social Studies: My place in the world, Time for Kids
Reminders
It would also be helpful for your students to have an extra pair of socks, pants, and underwear in their backpack (labeled). During these winter months, snow pants do not always hold up, and a change of clothes is helpful. Thanks!
Students should also have a hat and gloves with them. Unless it is bitterly cold or raining, they will head outside for recess. :)
Please fill out the survey that was sent home on Friday regarding full-day kindergarten. The district appreciates your feedback!
Remember to turn in your December Paws for Reading!
This is our last week before winter break. I hope everyone has a relaxing break filled with memory making moments! :)
