From Principal Swindle
Hello Metzger Families,
I wanted to send out a letter to update all of our families with students in Maestro Guerrero's class about our supportive response to student needs for the remainder of Mr. Guerrero's leave.
Maestra George is now in place and has the support of an additional teacher in the classroom. There will be two certified teachers in the classroom to maximize student learning and behavior support. I want you all to be aware of a behavior policy that will be strictly enforced in the classroom. If students are disrupting class with what we call "yellow behavior" which includes shouting out, not following adult directions, or being unkind to other students, they will be given one warning and a reminder of the rules in the classroom.
If they do not correct their behavior, they will come to the office and call home with the support of an adult. They will then do their school work in a different classroom for the rest of the day with the support of a Metzger staff member. If a student shows any type of "red behavior" which is behavior that is unsafe physically or if they use profanity or hate speech of any kind, there will be no warnings. They will come to the office right away to call their family and move to a structured setting for learning outside the classroom for the rest of the day.
I want you all to know that student safety and maintaining a positive classroom climate are our highest priorities.
I greatly appreciate your support in reinforcing these expectations for kind, respectful, and safe behavior for our kids. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to call or email me directly.
Thank you,
Principal Swindle

Hola Familias Metzger,
Familias Metzger,
Gracias,
Directora Swindle
