Principal's Message
Dear parents,
It has been a great first week. The two days, on Monday and Tuesday, provided to staff were invaluable to get rooms ready, review of practices and protocols, and learning from the superintendent the focus of our professional learning for the next year.
However, the real treat came on Wednesday when our students arrived. It was awesome to watch the interaction between students and staff. Making connections and building positive relationships are key to student success. Although only two days into the school year, I am confident that we are well on our way to a great school year.
I hope that you all have an enjoyable and relaxing Labor Day weekend and we look forward to the students’ return on Tuesday and I look forward to meeting parents at our Open House on Wednesday, September 28th. The school year has begun.
Sincerely,
Jeff Rodman
Interim Principal
School Hours
Our school day begins promptly at 7:35 am with students in their homerooms and will end at 2:10 pm.
Summer Reading
Welcome back! The ELA department hopes your child found a compelling book from our Community Reading List. For the summer reading requirement, all incoming middle school students should have read a book from the Community Reading List list and a second book of their choice.
On Wednesday, September 14th, students will bring their completed Book Notes and join like-minded students, staff, and community members for a lively discussion about their book.
We look forward to these book discussions!
Please reach out to Kriisten Fauci - RMS ELA | Reading Curriculum Coordinator (kfauci@rpk12.org) if you have any questions and/or concerns about summer reading.

Student Council
Student Council will be having an informational meeting after school on Thursday Sept 8th in room D125. Student Council is in charge of planning spirit days and school wide events and we will be discussing upcoming elections. Students from all grades are invited.
