PTA Fun Fair

I've notified our PTA leadership this week that schools have been advised to avoid contracting out bouncy house and inflatable type items and dunk tanks for a variety of reasons. Given that these types of activities were a big part of our annual fun fair, we would love to hear any input from families on alternate activities for the Fun Fair. If you have any ideas, we would love for you to join us at the PTA meeting on Thursday, January 16th.

More information and the agenda for the meeting was sent home today with students and can also be viewed by clicking HERE

Library Update

I shared last week that our Buildings and Grounds team removed some flooring in our library and ground floor hallway. I'm excited to share that our library should be up and running next week. Although the floor is still a work in progress, library will be a place to visit again next week so kids can check out and check in books.

I added a few photos of how it looks. Although it won't be the most comfortable space in the building, it is filled with books and eventually it will have a pretty nice facelift!

Winter MAP Testing Kindergarten thru Fifth Grade

We give students MAP tests to determine your child’s instructional level and to measure academic growth throughout the school year, and from year to year in the areas of reading and math. SK through 5th grade will use chromebooks in their classrooms to complete the MAP tests.

MAP tests are unique in that they adapt to be appropriate for your child’s level of learning. As a result, each student has the same opportunity to succeed and maintain a positive attitude toward testing. Each school year, students at the elementary level take the tests during Sept/October, January and May. Following each testing period, you will receive a report showing your child’s growth. If you have any questions about MAP testing, please contact your child(ren)’s teacher.

Schedule for Winter MAP Testing @ Washington:

Week of January 13th Winter MAP – Math SK-5th

Week of January 21st Winter MAP – Makeups SK-5th
