CHS Musical Theater Stages Tony Award Winner “Urinetown: The Musical” April 12 - 13
If you missed the opening night performance of "Urinetown: The Musical," U-R-IN(e) luck because Cheltenham Music Theatre is staging the multiple Tony Award-winning satiric comedy musical tonight (Friday, April 12) and Saturday, April 13 at Stretton Hall at Cheltenham High School.
Don’t miss junior Manny Rimmer as Bobby Strong, senior Ivy Austin as Hope Cladwell, senior Natalie Pomerantz as Cladwell B. Cladwell, junior Sarah England as Penelope Pennywise and senior Jazire Parker as Little Sally in this send up of corporate greed and populist revolution.

Myers Elementary Hosts Annual Family Heritage Night
On April 4, the Myers community celebrated its rich diversity at its annual Family Heritage Night, one of the school's most anticipated and long-standing traditions. Families from more than 15 ethnic/cultural backgrounds, including parts of the United States (including Puerto Rico), Guatemala, Serbia, Russia, China, Egypt, Ireland, Vietnam, Monland of Myanmar, Netherlands and Mexico shared delicious food and displayed items related to their heritage. Cedarbrook Students Compete in County, Regional Science Competitions
Cedarbrook Middle School students have been working tirelessly since September with Cedarbrook Challenge teacher Beth Kenna to prepare for this year’s “science fair competition season.” The students competed in the Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science and Montgomery County Science Research competitions and 74th Delaware Valley Science Fair. Completing a science fair project and performing at this level “is quite a challenge,” said Kenna. Congratulations to the following students for their persistence and hard work:

High School, Wyncote Jazz Bands Perform at Warm Daddy’s
On Wednesday, April 10, the Wyncote Jazz Band (pictured) and CHS Jazz Big Band played at Warm Daddy’s by Penns Landing as part of Jazz Journeys Educational Institute’s “Night Club at Noon” program in honor of Jazz History Month. Indoor Color Guard Wins Regional Competition
Led by captains sophomore Inna Dawson and junior Briandra Wilson, the CHS Indoor Color Guard recently won the Cavalcade Scholastic Regional A Indoor championship at Spring Ford High School with 87.130 points. The squad outpaced Spring Ford Blue (83.210), Chichester (82.620) and Daniel Boone (82.570) to win the competition. The indoor guard performs locally and at regional competitions throughout the winter season. The group’s next and final competition will be at Garnet Valley High School on April 27.

CBK Runners Qualify for Penn Relays
CSD Cedarbrook Middle School (left to right) eighth grader Mariah Winfield, seventh grader Kira Murray and eighth graders Jael Sykes and Eyota Bey ran the top qualifying time of 51.76 in the 4x100m relay at a recent Penn Relays qualifier meet. The relay order was Winfield, Bey, Sykes and Murray on the anchor leg. The girls’ qualifying time gained them entry into the 125th running of the Penn Relays on April 26.

Calendar Reminders
Schools will be closed Monday, April 15 – Friday, April 19 for Spring Break. District offices will be closed on Friday, April 19.
Monthly early dismissals have been moved from the third Wednesday of the month to the second Wednesday of the month. The District has early dismissal on Wednesday, May 8. Schools will dismiss at the following times:
- Cheltenham High School | 1:30 p.m.
- Cedarbrook Middle School | 2:10 p.m.
- Elkins Park School | 2:40 p.m.
- K – 4 Schools | 2:45 p.m.
It's OFFICIAL ... End of the 2018-19 school year is set.
- Graduation is Thursday, June 6.
- Final student day is Thursday, June 13.
- Teachers have professional development on Friday, June 14, and an in-service day on Monday, June 17.

Kindergarten Registration and Screening for the Class of 2032
Kindergarten registration and readiness screening for the 2019-20 school year will take place Monday, May 6 through Thursday, May 23 from 8:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. at the Administration Building (2000 Ashbourne Rd., Elkins Park). Children must be a Cheltenham Township resident to register, and be 5-years-old on or before September 1, 2019, to attend kindergarten this coming school year.
