Monthly Events Of Wildcats: JULY 2020

Principals Message

Hello Wildcat families,

Who would have known that our summer would be just as busy as the school year? My team is meeting consistently working through ways to keep students, teachers and staff safe through out the 2020-2021 school year. We are trying to prepare for a school year like no other! There are so many unknowns, that there are times we end up right were we started during our discussions. Here are a few things we are working on:

  • We are devising a plan for students arriving on campus and at dismissal time.
  • We are considering alternative locations on campus for lunches, beyond the cafeteria.
  • We are looking at traffic flow through the hall ways and courtyard.
  • We are brainstorming ideas on what the classroom will look like in efforts to support social distancing.
  • We are locating a room for those who become ill while on campus to reduce exposure to others.
  • We are looking at what PPE staff should have while keeping a nurturing and caring environment for all.

I am sure there is something we need to plan for that hasn't come to us yet. If you have a question or idea on how school could look in August, I ask that you email me ( I am open to ideas on how to keep the Wildcat community safe. I encourage you to visit the TEWMS website through out the summer as it will be our key communication tool.

In August, we will come together once again (in some manner) to ensure that the Wildcat students are successful. While I understand that difference from our “normal” routines can create apprehension and uncertainty, the way we as adults react to this is critical to the overall well-being of our students, your children. Children are quite resilient when it comes to change; however, they take their cues from the adults around them. Children are looking to the adults in their lives for positive affirmation to feel comfortable and safe with these changes. I encourage you to read the district guidelines and communicate positively to your children so they can look forward to the school year and transition smoothly back into school. In times like these, adults need to rally around the children and see them through the situation with strength and character.

Let us know how a Wildcat has made a difference for you! Give them a shout out here.

3 learning options for students in Pasco County Schools.

Re-Opening Pasco County Schools

After seeking input from parents and staff, Pasco County Schools has announced the plan for ReOpening our schools in the fall. Parents have three options to choose from. Watch the Superintendent’s introductory video and review the options on our new ReOpening website: The deadline for choosing among the three back-to-school options has been extended for one week to Wednesday, July 8, 2020.

As we continue to push out more information so that parents can make informed choices, we understand the need for more time to explore the available options. We also understand that the circumstances related to COVID-19 have shifted significantly in the past few days, and that the implementation of any return-to-school options may continue to be modified before students and most staff return in August. If circumstances worsen, we will await direction from the Governor’s Office regarding the possible closing of schools.

We will continue to push out more information. On July 1 we will provide additional information in a Family Information Guide for ReOpening 2020-2021, and a document called ReOpening Guidance for Schools 2020-2021. They are intended to provide additional information and guidance to help you make an informed decision.

If you have already selected an option, you may change your mind based on new information or changing circumstances. To change your option, simply fill out the Select an Option form again. We will use the most recent form.

Summer Student Registration

Student registration for the 2020-2021 school year will be done virtually, via email. You can find the registration packet located on our schools' website - on the right hand side under the Student Registration tab. Any questions can be directed to our Registrar Ms. Korte ( Once a family has completed the registration process, Ms. Korte will assign a school counselor, whom will sent up a zoom meeting with the family to review academic history and select courses for the 2020-2021 school year.

The following guidelines have been developed to allow our 6th graders the opportunity to come on campus on July 30th. Please make note that this will be THE ONLY time that 6th graders will be able to come onto campus prior to the 1st day of school.

  • Student groups will be less than 10 with one adult.
  • Wildcats will practice social distancing where possible (ie. court yard & lunch).
  • Student groups will be housed in multiple locations on campus to keep them staggered.
  • Student movement around campus will be mapped to reduce students crossing paths.
  • Masks are required.
  • Students will be spread out on campus during lunch to practice social distancing.
  • No more than 50 in any large area, while practicing social distancing (ie. gym, media center, cafeteria).

ROAR camp registration:

The parent meeting will be held virtually at 9:30am to allow families time to get back home after dropping off their student. Visit for the meeting link and an informational packet which will be available for down load as well.
