Children moved schools often. Parents kept moving to find richer goldfields. Often there was no schooling because there was no schools built .Schools were made from tents . The roof was made from canvas materials

In 1851 there were approximately 4000 woman on the goldfiels in ballarat compared to about 12500.Most of these women were married and some were not married

many womens had to work for e.g
1. cooking
2.singing and dancing for diggers
3.digging with men
4.shopkeepers
5.caring for kids
6.make breakfast,launch and dinner for families and sometimes even naghbours
womans and childrens health on the goldfields
Conditions were poor on the goldfields .Many children died beause of the foul muddy water they had to drink .
people died from whooping caugh , measles and other diseases because there were no hospitals .Cemetries were set up to bury dead.
