## Mistakes are Important! For AVID and Math!

We've spent some time the first couple weeks of class working on math activities from Stanford University's Graduate School of Education. Professor Jo Boaler and her team have released some inspiring math activities that encourage students to think creatively and work collaboratively, among other Algebraic thinking. Each lesson also comes with a short video that explains some brain research. This one is my favorite and explains how important it is to make mistakes. Ask your students about playing the mistake game in class (and about Big Brain questions). AVID students should also keep this in mind. Enjoy!
